HOLY ZOO at Festivals - Washington DC and Poland

In May, Katharina Waisburd's film HOLY ZOO is going to be screened at festivals in the US and Poland - this time at Jewish filmfestivals in Washington DC and Warsaw. And end of May HOLY ZOO celebrates its official Polish Premiere at Krakow Film Festival!
With HOLY ZOO, the director tells a story about men and beasts in the midst of the Middle East conflict. She is observing their balancing act in interacting everyday in the microcosm of the Biblical Zoo of Jerusalem.

"HOLY ZOO - In the Biblical Zoo of Jerusalem" on TV

The broadcaster SWR shows Katharina Waisburd's film "HOLY ZOO - In the Biblical Zoo of Jerusalem" on novembre 30 at 11.25 pm. In her film, the director accompanies men and beasts in the microcosm zoo and observes their balancing act in interacting in the everyday zoo life in the midst of the Middle East conflict.

The film is presented in the Young Documentary program titled "In times of war and freedom". "HOLY ZOO - In the Biblical Zoo of Jerusalem" is a cooperation between SWR, the regional filmfund MFG and Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

HOLY ZOO - World Premiere in San Francisco

The documentary HOLY ZOO by Katharina Waisburd celebrates its world premiere at San Francisco Jewish Film Festival. The Californian press recommends HOLY ZOO as one of ten 'must-see films':

Our new film project - young documentary HOLY ZOO

GiraffenWe are very happy to announce our new film project! TM Film produces the young documentary
"HOLY ZOO - News from the Old City" by director Katharina Waisburd, graduant student at Film Academy Baden-Wurttemberg. HOLY ZOO is about people and animals passing their time in Jerusalem's Biblical Zoo and about how employees and visitors overcome walls and boundaries in daily life in order to interact - in the zoo and in the divided city.
Our team is currently on-site for the first shooting period and experiences how violent struggles in Jerusalem challenge friendship and team spirit among zoo employees and visitors since the beginning of July.

Summer Cinema - "Where the Condors Fly" in Singen (GER)

Summernights invite to philosophize - theatre Weitwinkel Kino Singen to a screening of "Where the Condors Fly". The cultural association GEMS and the communal theatre show the film in their section "What is cinema?" where they ask about nature of film, created by attitude, form and technical setting. Carlos Kleins cinematographic reflection about filmmaker Victor Kossakovsky, shooting his film "Long live the antipodes", puts the same question and visualizes ambivalences and posibilities of actual documentary creation. A double screening together with Victor Kossakovsky's film allows a further reflection.
